An implementation-independent theoretical question, how much performance degradation is 1024 bits compared to 4096 bits RSA?

With each doubling of the RSA key length, decryption is 6-7 times slower.

Figure 1 shows how the decryption time increases with the length of the module. installed timings on the Pentium 2 GHz.
