What are some physical distribution services with an API? (pdf for letter delivery)

I am writing a billing service for a client, and I would like to program my self from the most time-consuming part of the process. It looks something like this.

print X number of PDF files and envelopes, envelopes, stamps and send to the post office.

It will be only a few hundred bills a month to start, but it can grow. I am sure that there is some kind of service that provides an api for delivering a printed pdf address to an address, but I cannot find it. I think part of my problem is finding google terminology.

Have you ever used such services?
