Visual C ++ studio, recompiles only modified files

I have two dll files made by about 1500 cpp files. When I need to edit it, I usually recompile all 1,500 files from the start. But I heard that there is a way to make Visual Studio recompile only modifications, taking much less time ... How to do this?

VS is really good at performing dependency checks, so only the necessary material is recompiled. I see a couple (more or less likely) reasons for what you see:

  • You change the title and include it everywhere.
  • You hit "rebuild" instead of "build".
  • You have included the cpp file.
