Detecting multiple monitors and setting separate wallpapers for each

I am starting a project to create a rotator for wallpapers for computers with multiple monitors.

1) how do you detect monitors in windows and the corresponding resolution

2) how to install the image on the monitor. I create one image created together or set each separately and how?
