Do search engines process the alt text of the image placed in the h1 tag, just as they will handle the plain text placed in the h1 tag?
I did a search here to find the answer to this question, but I was able to find information about replacing images and the notorious discussions h1.
For example:
<h1><img src="#" alt="Contact Us" /></h1>
Proceed in the same way as:
<h1>Contact Us</h1>
In the electronic eye of a search engine?
This seems significantly less "CSS Hacky" than other image replacement methods such as negative text padding, display: none, height: 0, or funny z-index integers.
