Maximum Number of Concurrent TCP / IP Connections - Win XP SP3

Question

Does anyone know the maximum number of concurrent TCP / IP connections in Windows XP SP3? I am trying to load a test machine and would like to know what maximum number of tcp connections can be opened by an application (in my case, a java application) to this machine.

Please note that often you can be limited by the number of outgoing connections supported on the client machine, and not by the number of possible simultaneous connections. See This Socket Bind Error for configuration MAX_USER_PORTto enable more outgoing connections from the machine running the tests.
