We have an ASP.NET application that we recently ported to a new server with IIS7 and .NET 3.5.
In this new environment, some users who are in IE (6, 7, or 8) experience fancy intermittent problems when postback does not work on ASP.NET buttons. (you press the button and nothing happens)
The problem occurs sporadically. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. For some users, the postback button almost never works (but sometimes yes!). To complicate matters, there are some asp.net postback pages that always work.
Other pages contain a combination of “asp buttons” and “asp link buttons,” in which asp postpack buttons often don't work, but link button backlinks always work.
Javascript is up and running. The source has valid tags.
I really managed to get the “View Source Code” snapshots on the same page when it worked and when it didn’t work, and the source was EXACTLY the same !!!
At first I thought it was a problem with IE6, but now it was played on IE7 on the same user machine.
How would I even BEGIN to solve this problem?
Any help, ideas or guidance would be greatly appreciated. I am at the end of my mental rope here.
