COM Registration Error in Visual Studio 2008 Customization Project

I would like to register Outlook Redemption as an isolated COM component using the Visual Studio 2008 installation project. After adding Redemption.dll to my installation project, if I select the vsdrfCOMRelativePath or vsdrfCOM options in Properties> Register, I get the following error.

EAccessViolation exception in msvbver.dll module on 0000A15F. Access Violation at address 467DA15F in the msvbver.dll module. Reading address 000000CC.

Does this error mean that the problem is related to my installation of Visual Studio or does it mean that something is wrong with the way Redemption.dll works?

(Note: selecting the vsdrfCOMSelfReg option works, but that’s not what I want to do.)

Redemption is recorded through self-registration in terms of DllRegisterServer(called manually through regsvr32 redemption.dll), which should translate into vsdrfSelfReg.
As far as I remember, you can still encounter problems if dependencies on the registration module are not available during registration.
