.NET Recording for Windows via Linux and Mono

Over time, I mainly developed the use of open source languages, toolkits, etc. on Linux and Mac. The new project, however, is going to put me in the .NET world. In addition, the world of .NET, whose products will be deployed in the Windows infrastructure.

In my opinion, I made the assumption that I could not develop this combination of the platform in Linux using Mono due to the main architectural differences, but this is nothing more than an unreasonable assumption at the moment. Can someone verify or refute this assumption?

Thanks.
