"Could not open website" error message from VS 2008 on Vista

I am trying to open a project in VS 2008, and my domain is in the admin group. I get this message:

“Cannot open the web site ' http: // locahost '. To access Web sites on the local IIS web server, you must run Visual Studio under an Administrator account to access the IIS metabase. Alternatively, FrontPage Server Extensions (FPSE), and then provide FPSE access to users who will run Visual Studio "

Any body knows what I need to do to fix this problem. I tried modifying the shortcut to run as administrator, but should not do this if I am an administrator on my machine.

Perhaps you did not have IIS setup on the local computer, I would check your IIS configuration before proceeding. You can always create a website or web application that runs through cassini and provide a folder path along the IIS path.

PS Even if you are a machine administrator, with a prospect, if access restrictions are enabled, you should still indicate that you want to run the application in the context of the administrator.

Open Control Panel → Programs and Features → Turn Windows Features On or Off. In the list of features, open Internet Information Services, and then open Web Management Tools, and then select the IIS 6 Management Compatibility check box. Click OK and install the selected IIS function.
