Recursive workflow and MS CRM performance

I need to write a workflow in CRM that calls itself every day. This is a recursive workflow.

He will work on half a million objects every day and deactivate the record if it has not been updated in the last 3 days.

I was worried about performance if someone else did it.

You want your workflow to work during off-peak hours. Assuming you have an installation in place, you should get away from this. If you are using a hosted instance, you may be worried about one organization performing the workflow while another organization is using the system. Use a timeout and possibly a custom workflow, if necessary, to force the start time to a specific period.

I assume that you will be most effective in determining which entries to deactivate. (i.e., the query expression only returns records that you deactivate).
