Open source and free 30 day trial?

Could it be open source and not free? Why is open source not free software?

I saw a book about it, and I thought that I would check it. The logo says "Open Source Business Intelligence." There are better-known reporting systems, such as Jasper reports, the most widely used open source business analyst ".. is that just a phrase?

The open source initiative and the Open Source engine have Open Source definitions that are almost completely equivalent to the definition of the Free Software Foundation Free Software. However, "Open Source" is not a trademark or anything like that, and people have the right to use this phrase as they see fit. Since the site links to a 30-day free trial, I would suggest that they do not use "Open Source" in the same sense.
