Do robots scan iframes?

Are robots usually scanned inside frames? And how do they do it? Do they index it instantly or simply “remember” the URL and continue sometimes later?

If there is a href / src link somewhere on an indexed (i.e., workaround) HTML / XHTML page , it will be indexed. Regardless of whether the page is presented to the user through an iFrame, it does not matter.
