Using a different company name to distribute iPhone apps?

My company begins to develop iPhone. We would like our iPhone business to be separated from our other companies, so in the App Store we would like to know a different name. For example, although our company may be a legal company, LLC, we would like our applications in the App Store to look from different brand names, for example. ReallyCoolApps, LLC, which will simply be dba for Company, LLC.

I am in the middle of registering a developer program, and she asks me about my company name, website, etc. At this point, I need to enter a name that we would like to show in the App Store (for example, ReallyCoolApps, LLC), or I can enter our real company name (for example, Company, LLC) here and select another name that appears later when will we be ready for distribution?

In fact, we don’t have a name in the App Store yet. I would like to go and register to start testing on the device itself and wait until it comes up with a name. I want to make sure that this is possible before continuing.

Thanks!

I’m not sure exactly when you select your display name, but I’m absolutely sure that it warns you and clearly tells you that “you will be displayed in the application store as xyz” at the point at which you must indicate the name.

I set up my account a few weeks ago, and I'm sure it warned me.
