Custom RoleProvider using a session

Question

I was considering using custom MembershipProvider / RoleProviders.

Unfortunately, the level of security that we currently have requires the installation of some session files. Thus, when the IsUserInRole () method is called, the Session object is always null because the session material is all pre-populated.

Any suggestions on how I can get around this and keep using the session-based security model we have?

(I did not write it, and I have to use it).

Any help is much appreciated, as always.
