How can I prevent Visual Studio from creating obj folders in my source directory?

I set the tags OutputPath, IntermediateOutputPath and BaseIntermediateOutputPath in all my csproj files. Despite this, Visual Studio creates additional "obj" folders in my source directories. As far as I can tell, it creates the obj \ Debug \ TempPE directory and then leaves it empty.

I do not mind creating Visual Studio of all kinds of crap, but how do I say to create it only in the places where I want it, and not in the source directory?
