Is there a way to install Delphi 2010 on Windows 2000?

I just downloaded Delphi 2010 iso from my SA subscription and wanted to install it in addition to other Delphi installations on my laptop. Unfortunately, he refuses to install because Windows 2000 is running on the computer.

Is it possible to somehow install it to install it? Or is there a technical reason why it may not work, even if it is installed?

edit:

Additional Information:

  • Delphi 2009 is installed on this computer, so dotNET 2.0 is already installed.
  • The Delphi 2010 installer appears, asks me to use the language, and then says: "This product requires at least Windows XP. Installation cannot continue."

Now I am looking for:

  • a way to force the installer to skip this check and install anyway - or -
  • the reason this will not work (for example, Delphi uses some Windows API, which is not available in Windows 2000)

You can try running setup.exe with the / Win 2K switch. Maybe this helps. But I heard from the German forum that the user who installed Delphi 2010 in Windows 2000 had a lot of problems with the IDE. Therefore, use the / Win 2K switch at your own risk.

And you must have at least .NET 2.0 SP1 installed
