Learning how to use irony for .net

I'm trying to speed up with Irony . I continue to see some terminology that I still do not understand: terminals, non-terminals, token, state machine, Associativity, abstract syntax tree .

Can someone please attach some importance to some of these conditions? I keep reading great things about Irony, so any help you can give by learning how to use it would be great.
