HTML / CSS - checking for missing file links

Are there any plugins or tools that can validate HTML and its associated CSS files for missing links, such as images? I have a very complicated page on which something does not display correctly, but I am having problems tracking what is definitely missing or where it refers.

What about firebug? Its "net" tab will show you the stream of requests that your browser makes, and any missing files will be displayed as 404.
