Touch screen issue

Suppose I have a touch screen that supports one-way contact, is it very difficult to use a software solution (for example, programming to detect touch and movement of several fingers) so that the touch screen supports multi-touch?

Just as I bought a cheap cell phone with one finger and through programming, I make it work like an iPhone, Gphone or what is so cool (supporting multi-touch). :-)

I am using VSTS 2008 + C # + .Net 3.5. I ask seriously, not joking. Please correct me if I'm stupid and in the wrong direction.
