What is the best screen resolution for developing web pages?

I m creating web pages daily. I prefer the development screen resolution: 1600x1200, but what's yours? And do you use any other plugins? I am using re sizer 1.0 window for Firefox. But are there any better options?

In my opinion, if you use the viewfinder, you are already at the top of the game. I try to aim for pages that work well on a 1024x768 screen, given scrollbars and toolbars, and more. It may be worth changing the screen size to 1024x768 (or at least what you support) from time to time to fully understand this user interface, but overall the window size allows you to know quite well.

I do not agree - layout sizes are fixed. In fact, Stackoverflow.com uses a fixed-size format, like so many professional sites. Cause? Predictability.

I think the best advice given here is to simply try it in different resolutions instead of your own and try to make it good for different sizes.
