Creating browser extensions

ClickOnce is currently a very unreliable technology, in my opinion. Currently, only Internet Explorer can initially execute it and FireFox if you use the FFClickOnce add- in .

My questions are few (after editing):

  • Does anyone know the supported methods for opening ClickOnce applications from Opera / Safari / Chrome?

  • If not, where can you start creating a reliable plugin to achieve this functionality.

  • Where can I start creating FireFox, Safari and Opera extensions?

I think it comes down to explaining how the ClickOnce application actually runs, and also if the browser framework can support it.

Also, with Chrome, I understand that there is no additional infrastructure, so if there are no answers for it, I completely understand.

Components developed in Visual Studio 2008 should work fine in IE, Firefox, Safari, and Opera (there was a problem in VS2005).

Developing a cross-browser extension is a super-mega task that I would never have taken;)
