Can I write Python applications using PyObjC that target NON-jailbroken iPhones?

Can I compile Python and PyObjC for the iPhone so that the AppStore applications can write in Python?

If not, is this a purely technical problem or Apple’s intentional solution?

No: this is Apple’s intentional political decision (no doubt with some technical justification) to not support translators / battery life on iPhone for most languages. ObjC (and Javascript in Safari) is what Apple wants to use, not Python, Java, Ruby, etc.
