What are the benefits of Windows Embedded Enterprise?

My company built a machine that measures the wedge and roundness of the lenses by reading and interacting with very accurate indicators, motors and a switch panel. The machine interface is a WPF application and runs on Windows Vista on a regular PC purchased in a store.

I have never worked with Windows Embedded, but it seems to me that it is designed for this type of system. My question is: what will he buy me? If I run this on Windows Embedded Enterprise (Vista), what benefits will I get?

Do I get more control over download, login and all that? Can I make it more seamless if it really does not look like a regular full-screen application?

Is this something I should learn?

Windows Embedded Enterprise is a different SKU, but the exact same OS. You will not be able to better control the load, login, etc.

If you want to do such things, you need to consider the Windows Embedded Standard. The actually available version is Windows Embedded Strandard 2009 and is based on Windows XP Pro (which can still run .Net applications), and the next version of Windows Embedded Standard 7 will be based on Windows 7. These OSs are component versions, which means that you start from scratch and aggregate the OS components that you need, and only these.
