What would be the best way to use excel python functions?

Someone really needs to fix this "subjective question evaluator"

I usually compile my functions in a DLL and call them from excel. It works well (well, just say it works)

Unfortunately, python cannot be compiled. I know py2exe, but I do not know what the DLL can do.

So ... is there any other way? I appreciate all the ideas and suggestions on this.

There is an Excel Addin that allows you to do this using Discovery Script at xefion.com.

It is free but not open source. It is also based on the implementation of IronPython.
