Ido mode filenames for vim?

I strictly use vim, but I play with emacs and really love ido-mode when opening files. just start typing part of the file name, and it narrows the search and just presses the enter key when the desired file is at the top of the list. is there anything similar for vim? I searched without luck.

thanks

Here are some good quick plugins for finding files, such as fuzzyfinder http://www.vim.org/scripts/script.php?script_id=1984 , which can improve your experience. (The Fuzzy Finder seems to make an ambiguous choice)
