The growing development of problem teams with Dreamweaver Check In / Out

Our relatively small development team is a little afraid of Dreamweaver. The only functionality we rely on is checking the file on the system. Since the team is likely to grow over the next few months, we need to solve these problems.

Subversion has caught our attention, but are not sure if it will suit our needs.

All we need to be aware of is whether anyone is working on a particular file before we ask it from the server and block any overrides of the extracted file.

Any recommendations or recommendations on common best practices will be highly appreciated.

This merger is mostly automatic; but when it is "too complicated" (for example, when two developers modified the same part of a file), one person should resolve the "conflicts" by indicating which modifications of which the developer should be supported.

Subversion is fine for our team. We are trying to decide whether to lock files or use the default copy-modify-merge model. Could you give some examples of when you will have several developers in one file. This sounds a little strange, because I can’t understand why this cannot be the work of one person.
