Mutliplatform application: (Automated) Testing for Mac OSX howto?

I have a firefox based application (ff extension) that supposedly / presumably works on Mac OSX. I want the application to be officially supported on Mac OSX. To do this, I need to include automated tests in the build process specific to Mac OSX.

With the ubiquitous availability of Windows and Linux as a cloud offering, it is easy to run automated tests for these platforms. Not so with Mac OSX.

Any suggestions on how to do (easy) automated testing for Mac OSX? [PS: I met OSX CloudTemple in a private beta. I was not lucky in the invitation.]

I don’t know what kind of testing you want to do, but why don’t you install OS X on VMWare and test on a virtual machine? See this SO question if this is an option for you:

Perhaps a combination of Selenium (www.seleniumhq.org) and Sikuli (http://sikuli.org/) will work for you?

Selenium will run any website on FireFox and Sikuli to do the rest. The tools work great with Java API support. Both tools are platform independent.

Cheers, Stefan

If it were me, I would look at the selenium grid. First you need to create a Selenium RC test suite, and then use the Grid to run the tests on different platforms, including OS X, as well as Windows and Linux. I have not tried this with tests in the cloud, but it might even be possible.
