Now I pay Dreamhost for domain hosting, and I was pleased with this when I actually used my shared hosting, but now I am a paid client of the Google App Engine service and I have not moved more than a few dozen megabytes of data to or from Dreamhost server year.
Now Iām exploring various ways to organize my domains without having to pay for a full-fledged public hosting and wonder if there is any good experience in basic domain hosting solutions.
Of course, I would be happy to pay Google additionally for this function, which will be baked more fully in the App Engine service, but outside it I decided to start my own Nginx server, trying to switch to bare - register the registrar or even just contact Dreamhost and see can I agree on a price if Iām ready to give up all my storage and bandwidth.
Too bad, because I believe their tools and support are not found by Google, to be honest. But when I can pay a penny for App Engine, it's hard to keep paying for a service that I really don't use.
