Drupal 6: Hook to change the help field on a form

Question

I have a form and want to programmatically change the help text that appears at the top of the page. Is there a hook available for this?

EDIT : "help text", I mean the text entered in the CCK form at: admin / content / node -type / sample-form

The text area has an identifier edit-help

The following is the text:

This text will appear at the top of the presentation form for this content type. This is useful for helping or instructing your users.
