WCF Request / Response Size

Question

I am wondering if there are customizable settings to limit the maximum request / respos packet size for WCF? I am using VSTS 2008 + WCF 3.5. I am a WCF service for self-service as a Windows service.

Yes, the binding has properties for receiving / setting the maximum bytes of data reception: check the maxReceivedMessageSize property (representing the size in bytes).

However, setting this large value may not be a good idea, because if an error occurs in the transport, you need to send all the (large) message.
