Can anyone install Oracle10g Client 64-bit 10.2.0.3 on Windows 7 x64 RTM?

I am pleased with Windows 7 RTM x64 in general, since everything in my development environment works well with it, except for the Oracle Client 10.2.0.3 64-bit version. I downloaded the latest version, and as soon as I start installing it, it stops with an error, stating that it will be installed in Windows version 6.0 (Vista), but does not support Windows version 6.1 (Windows 7). There seems to be no way to ignore and continue. Does anyone know a workaround for this? Hurrah!

Edit: changing compatibility with Vista or any other option does not work either. I also work as an administrator and have administrator rights.

Correction: see my comment below for a solution!

I have found a solution for everyone who has the same problem. Just run the installer from the command line, as shown below:

setup.exe -ignoreSysPrereqs

and everything will be fine, you do not need to set the compatibility mode (doing this will probably lead to a crash).

I got this on the Oracle forums, fortunately from someone who tried to do this on Windows 7RC.

Try right-clicking on the executable file, click on the properties, click on the compatibility tab and set "Run this program in compatibility mode for" in Windows Vista or something earlier.

in some cases (I don’t know exactly why), right-click on the exe file, then go to properties and then combine, you will find that compatibility mode is disabled. Try using the "Change for all users" option, where below.
