IPhone SDK: getting a contact name from a phone number

Question

Does anyone know if there is a preferred method to search for a contact name in the address book using their phone number as a key?

It seems that this should be a standard feature, as it is performed in several places by phone, for example, in the Recent Calls, Voicemail List, Incoming Call ID, etc.

Unfortunately, the only way to do this is to list all the contacts, list the contacts through each phone number and check each until you find a hit. If you think that there should be a built-in way to request by phone number, you must file execute the function request.
