Code Formatter: clearing badly formatted jsp code

Question

So, I am working on a jsp / servlet that came to me and I am looking at a jsp file and it is just a jungle of jstl tags, java code and html dumped together. At first it looked like someone had started the standard eclipse formatting on it and had a page width of up to 40, so many things are broken, I tried to format it with a larger page width, but it seemed to make it worse without being able to say what happens without formatting parts of it first.

Is anyone lucky with any jsp / code formatter?
