Realloc problem

Can anyone explain this realloc behavior?

It removes "ncryp" from the beginning after realloc; but this should not happen ....

I have no idea what is happening at the moment. Different runs of the program with and without flag flags give different results. I go back to the drawing board and looked for memory errors using valgrind.

and on my system, the address of the highlighted string newstr is equal to the beginning, regardless of the size of the allocated “beginning”, apparently, the system redistributes the same memory position as it grows
