Show UAC prompt at application launch

I have an application that needs administrator privileges to do something. I would just like to show the UAC prompt when it starts and then gets upgraded. I'm not sure how to do this, but I hear about things like manifests and much, but I don’t see a simple answer anywhere.

You need an application manifest that requires elevated privileges. Here is a quote from the blog that answers this:
