Migrating a database from SQL 7 to 2005/2008

I have several fairly large databases located in an SQL 7 window. What is the best way to get them in SQL 2005 or 2008? As far as I know, there have been changes in the main file structures, so I'm not sure that a simple disconnect / attach is recommended. Otherwise, are there any good options?
