Plug and Play Support PHP / MySQL / Login / Security

Question

Can anyone recommend plug-in and executable PHP / MySQL software that will allow me to manage users, protect pages, request logins, process lost passwords, store their information, such as name / add-on / email, etc.

Is there anything similar?

I would like it to be as simple as including a file on my existing pages to make them part of the system.

I used Pear :: Auth to achieve this (creating a custom CMS) with some success. There is another package that has additional features called LiveUser.

They both have methods for creating / deleting users (in mySql), storing sessions and accessing session data, so they do a lot of hard work for you. However, none of these packages is plug-and-play, but they are about as close as you to achieve your stated goal without using some kind of preliminary CMS.

Pear packages are not well documented in general, but Auth docs are not so bad, and there are some useful examples. This is the one I worked with:
