Exclude focus change using tab key in .NET application

I have a very simple Windows application with several controls, a DataGridView and an Adobe PDF viewer. The application works great, except when you switch focus between controls, I regularly get the following exception.

System.AccessViolationException was unhandled

Does anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks Jon

Update

After the game a little more, this only happens when the Adobe control loses focus. I can get around a bit by disabling its Tabstop, but unfortunately, when I use LoadFile to load a PDF file, it focuses automatically (and then the application crashes when I exit)
