I want to force my user to search only in a specific folder when using the file upload control. Is it possible?

No, it completely depends on the client, as long as it is pure HTML, and not, say, in the implementation of ActiveX.

Unfortunately no. Thus, the standard download control of a web browser file cannot be limited.

If this is a network resource, perhaps the best idea is for the web server itself to create a list of all files and folders in that location and allow the user to navigate to the corresponding file?
