Silverlight 3 offline mode

Has anyone found that the user base is more reluctant to install Silverlight 3 Apps offline because they have no control over where the application is installed? I had several problems of a similar nature in the past when "experienced users" get upset that they cannot specify installation directories. Are there any workarounds? Any way to install a standalone Silverlight installation to request specific installation locations, etc.

The specific reason is that users want to install applications on remote storage, for example, a USB stick or something like that.

I have never had this problem before with similar technologies (like ClickOnce). In fact, I found the opposite. In general, users are more comfortable with software if they have to answer fewer questions.

For most users, it just doesn't matter where the application is installed. And most do not even understand the consequences of choosing one place over another.

Why burden users with choices that they don’t care and cannot answer in a meaningful way? I know that this does not apply to every user, but IMHO, this is for most.

I think this argument is similar to the fact that you are unhappy with where your temporary Internet files are stored. Obviously, you are talking about an application that runs either in a browser or from a browser, and where do “experienced users” think that it works when it is in the browser? It still needs to be downloaded before it runs locally. Perhaps this question may return the situation to context.
