What is the minimum source length (in bytes) for the LZ77? Can anyone suggest a small and fast real-time compression technique (preferably with source c). I need to store compressed text and a quick search to generate excerpts in my search engine.
thanks for the whole answer, and I use the D language for this project, so it is very difficult to port LZO codes to D. therefore I am going to either LZ77 or Predictor. Thanks again:)
