Visual Studio 2008 - How to disable pending scan processing

Is there a way to disable the "Pending Validation" processing that Visual Studio 2008 does every time you open a solution? This causes problems in our work, because processing about 4,500 files is slow.

Closing the tab didn't seem to help. I also tried "Perform background status update" - the task in the "Settings" - "Plug-in settings" settings is a window, but it wasn’t either.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
