Something I noticed about every iPhone application I tried is that everyone has places where they seem very slow and non-responsive. This applies to games, free applications, popular, popular, "professional" applications, and even several built-in Apple applications. Everyone seems to have places where they take many seconds or even a minute to react to screen touches; swamps and show a spinning beach ball for a few seconds; "queue up" to press a button to ignore only to actually do something in ten seconds, like a poorly made DVR; and lock yourself so long that the OS watchdog just kills them.
Since these Persian problems are so widespread, it seems to me that there should be some general problems with performance, some system errors that appear again and again for many different people. I myself am not an iPhone developer, so I collect community opinions:
What are the most common performance errors on an iPhone?
Or, what human factors in the development of the iPhone make it too easy to deliver with poor performance?
