SQL Server 2005 Sleep Type: Sleep_Task

Recently I came across a type of expectation about which I cannot find much information. I have a stored procedure that takes about 1.0 hours, but when the connection on the activity monitor displays the Sleep_Task wait type, SP can work for several days if I did not kill it. He just sits there, doing nothing.

Does anyone have any information on what this type of expectation is and why this is happening?

Thanks,

Chris dba

Hmm, I thought it was a dead end, but BOL says:

Sleep_Task Occurs when a task is executed, waiting for a general event to occur.

Someone on SqlServerCentral messages:
