Is it possible to wake the iPhone?

I would like to know if it is possible to wake an iPhone from sleep programmatically? I have NSTimer installed to play sound after a certain time, but I also want it to wake the iPhone when the timer rings. Is it even possible? Thanks!

No, you cannot at this time.

Push notifications will wake up the phone, but this can probably be redundant.
