I have SQL Server 2008, and it works fine, but today, starting the SQL server, I get the following error: " When connecting to SQL Server, a network-related or specific instance error occurred. The server could not be found or was unavailable. Make sure that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: named pipe provider, error: 40 - could not open a connection to SQL Server) (Microsoft SQL Server, error: 2 ) "
In SQL Server Configuration Manager -> sql server services -> MS sql server and all other service statuses are displayed as stopped (they were previously executed). I tried to run it, but the request failed. I checked the event log, showing it " SQL Server service (MSSQLSERVER) could not be started due to the following error: The service did not start due to login failure .... My SQL server is performing Windows authentication and a few days ago I changed PWD. Say this is the reason help.pls help. Note: its not a remote connection .. the server is just my system.
