Saving a file using Javascript in the S60v3 mobile browser

I'm busy experimenting with TiddlyWiki and try to run it on my Nokia E51, which uses S60v3. A webkit-based browser , which should mean that I can get it to work, but so far no luck.

Does anyone have experience saving files locally on this platform?

I looked at the source of TiddlyWiki. Its file operations use the jQuery.twFile plugin , which in turn uses its own Java applet in Webkit-based browsers. The S60 browser does not support Java applets, so I'm afraid you're out of luck.

I may be mistaken, but take a quick look at the widget training course on the Nokia forum, it seems that access to the file system with JavaScript is not available on the S60.

It looks like you should be extracting persistent data from the network.

I would hope that the web browser cache will allow you to request deleted data several times, but only transfer it once.
