I am trying to explicitly disable compilation of the _tkinter module when compiling Python 2.4.3. This is easy enough to do by modifying the makefile, but I would rather just add a configuration parameter to avoid providing a patch.
I do not understand the complex interaction between the modules / installation *, setup.py and their contribution to the generation of the makefile.
