What are the best resources for learning about the Java portlet specification (JSR-168)?

I watched online on the last day or so, but could not see anything that clearly explains the specification. The application I'm trying to learn is based on the BEA Weblogic Portal Server. I am primarily looking for links, but a good book will also be useful.

There is a very good free PDF e-book (Portlets and Apache Portals - 500 pages) available through the Stefan Hepper program (co-leader of the Java Portlet Specification JSR 168) at http://www.manning.com/hepper/ . You will need to register an account when publishing a publication (also free)
